Transmission problem?

I have an automatic and I have been having some idle problems lately (low rough idle). I was poking around under my hood and discovered that a bolt that sealed around a steel line going into my engine was complely off! somehow 2 mechanics missed this. Anyway that fixed the exhaust leak I had and improved my idle.

I just did the drop resistor mod and have it linked up to a switch under the gas pedal. The JB weld holding it in place gave out yesterday and it's not engaging anymore because it's not in the right place for the pedal to hit the switch. No problems there I'll fix it later.

Lately I've been driving and every so often the rpms will stick around 2k and not want to rise even though I'm pushing the pedal down further. The engine stays stuck at 2k untill the pedal reaches WOT when it downshifts and the rpms jump up to 5k or so.

Also when I put the gar in Drive the shift feels very hard and the car jerks pretty bad. I don't think it's the DR mod thogh because while driving my part throttle shifts are fine.

First thing I'm going to do is clean my IACV and see if that helps. Could my clutch be going? I admit to knowing very little about transmissions.

if you had a clutch .... in a word - NO! lol Have you checked the fluid level? I'd start there and then go to maybe having a flush and fill done on the trans.
