Aftermarket alarm install, Dome light type and where to splice the wire.

I bought an aftermarket alarm to install in my Max since it does not have keyless entry or a factory alarm (crime guard 533i).

I intend to do the install myself and after looking through the manual most of it looks pretty easy, but I did have a couple of questions (the other one is in a separate post). I did find a couple of charts that listed wire colors and locations but none of them answered this question.

The alarm uses the dome light for the door trigger and I need to know if the Max has a positive trigger or negative trigger. It what also be helpful to know the color and location of the wire I should tap into for this. I am sure I could figure it out by poking around with a multimeter, but it would save time and agravation if somebody could tell me or tell me where to find the information.

*2 The BCM (body control module) is located just below the radio.
*3 Must use a relay to interface with this circuit.
*4 A single negative pulse to the unlock wire will disarm without unlocking.
*5 The ECM is located in the front of the center console on the transmission hump. The wiring is easily reached by removing the small black panel just to the front of the center console on the passenger side. the wire is in the middle row, 7th one in from the left.

Wow, 5 minutes. Thanks I think that may answer part of my other question to. Does that little - mean it's a negative trigger?

Aftermarket and factory.

I want to know if factory alarm should be kept when instaling the aftermarket one. Alarm shop will do the work.
