OEM Spoiler Mounting - Same On '98 and '99?

do it need to provide some background info or is my Q sufficient?

i've got what i think is an OEM spoiler from a '98 to be installed on my '99. however, the outside mountings are not the same.

true, or do i in fact not have an OEM spoiler from a '98?

It could be an aftermarket spoiler. The spoilers from 95-99 seem to all look the same to me. Be nice to see some pictures of the mounting holes to make a comparison.

You don't have an OEM spoiler from a 98.

this is the "98" spoiler. all gaskets and sticky tape have been removed and i have not cleaned the surfaces yet:

i'll post photos of the OEM '99 later.

here are fotos of the mountings on the '99. i know this is an OEM spoiler on accounta i bought the car new off the dealer floor with the spoiler:

here's the mounting-ware on the respective trunks:

'98

'99 with one of the rivets broken but still in place

after studying these two spoilers, i'm thinking that the silver one is a dealer installed accessory. if you look at the third photo above there's a Nissan logo stamped in the plastic. there's no logo anywhere on the silver one. however, the third braked light on the silver spoiler is a genuine Nissan part based on the part number and Nissan logo stamped on it. notwithstanding the fact that it's not factory i do think it came from Nissan and therefore new mounting hardware should be available from Nissan... which is why i started this thread in the first place.

do you guys agree?

The red one is OEM, the other is aftermarket.

Didn't even need to see pics. All OEM Nissan spoilers for 97-99 Maximas are the same and interchangeable between the 97-99 years.
