CEL
hey, my cel comes on and goes off periodically, Im going to check it next week with my oil change but i noticed something today. Two weeks ago I was getting 19mpg (I'm always monitoring it). The light turned on last week and since then I got 24mpg. Anyone ever seen this? I almost don't want to get it read.
Probably your O2 sensors and/or KS.
Check the codes, report back.
It would be crazy not to at least check the codes.........and you can do better than 24mpg. Probably worthwhile addressing whatever the code(s) is/are.

This is the second time ive heard this. Another guy i know said he thinks his MAF is broken yet he has been getting BETTER gas mileage. So since gas prices are the way they are hes just leaving it alone.
But wouldnt a CEL make a car waste MORE gas, Since the car isnt readin the 02's anymore?

This thing increases your mpg/wallet size in the long run because there is no need to make trips to auto zone/dealer/mechanic for a diagnosis.
