Yes it would, when the reading creates a temp delta smaller than actual. But the controller only controls the fan. So if the fan is blowing high when it is hot, air coming out is not cold, then the thermistors are working but the thermal side is not working right.

i know some of you may not agree, but my a/c was not working either, the compressor was not even engaging.

I assumed something was toast because it wasnt engaging at all.

I did some research and in some vehicles compressors do no engage if there isnt enough pressure (not enough refridgerant in the system).

so i checked fuses, checked for leaks, and decided what the hell, its cheap and tried adding refridgerant myself. Within a minute of adding it all the sudden the compressor turned on!!!!

and now the a/c works!!

Compressor, condenser, evaporator, dryer and triple pressure switch. All of these are controlled by the ECU, not directly by the A/C controller.

might want to put some refrigerent die in there and allow it to circulate throughly thru the system. then try to locate the leak.freon doesnt go bad or wear out so if you needed to add freon to your system then a leak is what your going to have to look foward to fixing
