Misifring..?
Misifring..?
Well lets see...i was driving home and my car just shut off on the expressway. THe car would turn on have a hard time staying on..it sounded like it was misfiring. Sounds like a cammed out v8. I cant take it to autozone and hook it up cause the obd2 doesnt work on my car. Since i have the swap, im assuming.
Im wondering if you all could point out some things that could be wrong...
Tps

uh usually if you misfiring it should throw a code. check your codes, find out which chamber is misfiring, replace coil plug. also check and see if all the plugs are plugged in firmly before replacing.
if you have a max ecu try this: http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html
Hi -
To figure out which cylinder is misfiring, do the following.
With the engine running, disconnect an ignition coil. If you notice the engine running worse. That cylinder is good, reconnect the ignition coil. Move onto the next cylinder. If the way the engine is running doesn't change, that cylinder is misfiring.
Try swapping coil packs between a misfiring cylinder and one that is good. If your coil pack is bad, the other cylinder will misfire instead.
If you swap the coil pack and the spark plugs but the same cylinder is misfiring, it's probably your fuel injector.
It really helps to be able to use the obdII reader.
Good luck!

Check your #40 7.5 Amp fuse.
FYI: I just did some work on my car stereo. While driving to work, I blew the fuse for the stereo. Stereo went out, clock went out, key fob would not lock/unlock car. Also, engine was running really rough, felt like it was misfiring.
When I got home, the first thing I did was check the codes. My OBDII reader didn't even light up, I couldn't get anything. I checked and the ECU is also somehow connected to the #40 fuse. Once I replaced the fuse, car ran great and I could pull the codes.
