dumb question

about the mud guards:
Is there any benefit in using (in my case keeping) them?
I can only think about a (very) small increase in efficiency because of the (missing) weight and wind resistance. If I'm right, I think it's worth 5 minutes of work for something like .05 mpg extra.

Benefit may be that rocks throw up by your tires don't strike the car?

are you serious??? those splash guards weigh only a few ounces at best. use your head, i put some guards on after i bought the max to save the doors.....
