running amp wires... help

ok so im not very experienced at this as u can tell. and i did search for ever but i found nothing wat i was looking for.

i ran my amp wire all through my carpet and got em to the pedals but i cant find any hole in the firewall to bring to the battery.
also where can i stick the wires to the back of my dash???

Does any one have pictures of their firewall and dash with wires through them. and is there any special place i should leave the fuse by the battery?
Also wats the best location for the amp??

Please help i want my SUBS in!

First, your sig is huge. http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...g-sig-pic.html

Second, just run it through either the factory engine harness grommet, or any of the grommets in the firewall. Look from the engine bay to find them.

Alternatively, assuming you're an auto, drill a hole where the clutch master cylinder would be in the 5MT cars, run the cables through there.

What do you mean stick them to the back of your dash?

i've heard that you shouldn't mount the amp on whatever is actually moving.... ie the box vibrations.... I mounted my on the back of my seats. Seeing as they don't fold down there should never be a problem.

I had to drill a hole in the firewall.

yeh, wut i did was drill a hold thru the firewall. I dont understand wut u mean by sticking wires into the dash. If u mean the rca cables, u gotta put out the headunit and run the rca cables on the passenger side of the car.

I found a hole and then drilled to make it larger. Dont be afraid to drill holes in the firewall, so long as you know what is on the other side.

first of all.

Wrong section buddy... just for future ref.

Second. why not just use the giant gapeing hole covered by the gromet, on the right side of the IM? something i missed? unless your running like 0 Guage wire. it should be plenty big.

and just some of my own advice. im gonna go ahead and assume you want the wires to be pretty well hidden. if you run the amp power wire through the gromet i suggested and take out the center console. which is relativelyt easy. you can run all the wires down the center of the vehicle then, assumeing you wont flip about having a 1 inch slice under the center console, you can run the wires back underneath the carpet in the middle back seat and under the rear seats to the trunk.

Im auto, the easiest I thought was to drill a hole where the clutch master cylinder would be(the carpet is already cut out, almost above brake pedal) I ran all my wires on the left side under the plastic step thing(cant remember what its called) Your RCA will go to the back of the stereo along with the amp remote wire, for which you will have to remove the center console and stereo. Oh yeah dont forget to seal up the hole once the wires are through(silicone or something like that) Your fuse will probably come attached to the power wire, I have mine in the engine bay near the MAF. My amp is in the trunk on the back of the sub box, which I might put on the back of the rear seats.

don't drill a hole. theres a hole in the firewall already made. I had the same problem. i ran both a 4 gauge wire and an 8 gauge wire through the same hole. its burried on the right hand side about a little bit more than half a foot from the windsheild. come out verry close to the left side of the clutch pedal. gl. its a pain in the ***!

If you are doing things correctly, you would run the RCA wires on the opposite side of the car as the power wire to minimize noise interference. Assuming the amp is in the trunk, run the wires from the trunk, under the carpet on the passenger side, then pull it up through the center of the dash.

Correct, but if you bought shielded RCA's you can run it with the power wire.

I ran my 1/0 thru a new hole made by me. My rca's are ran on the opposite side to keep interference down.

I just did this job. Very easy. Power cable runs on the driver side and goes into the cabin through a huge grommet inside the tire well. Very easy to remove the plastic tire well covering, just a few screws. You don't even have to remove the whole thing, just the half that's nearest the door and peel it toward the front of the car. Of course you have to remove the tire and raise the car for this!!! The RCA I ran on the passenger side. I ran it under the carpet to behind the console...by the ECU.
