Shaft: hub or splined end?
Shaft: hub or splined end?
Ok. Gosh, I've been dealing with the shaking on my car for a while now. Posted this a while ago with good suggestions but I've done everything everyone's suggested to resolve the shaking: replaced all four tires, replaced all four wheels, replaced front axels, replaced front control arms, replaced all four rotors, replaced all four brakes.
So, here's what a friend, an accomplished mechanic suggested. Thought I'd post this here and get feedback. He said, maybe its the inner end of the shaft, either the hub or the splined end. Makes sense. BUT... of course, just testing for this means a LOT of work. Not that I'm against it, I've done all the work above my little ol' self. Its just that... I'm tired. Tired of dealing with the problem...and maybe I'd be better off having an independent shop do this part.
So, that's my question. Has anyone actually put a dial on their inner hub for this type of check? If so, what were their results and how much did it cost to repair? I have access to a shop to do this myself...like I said, I just don't know that I can. I'm exhausted. -karen
