when the car is turned to "on" is the check engine light suposed to be on

when i turn my car to "on" my check engine lights goes on after 1 second and once i start the car it goes away is that normal or does that just mean i have a silent code or someting.

thats normal. thats good.

if you can see it before you actually ignite the car, and then it goes away, that means you have no codes (unless you have a KS code, which is invisible_)

Nope thats a good thing. This shows you that your car's CEL isn't dead... Sucks when its dead and you have codes, but you don't realize it because the CEL doesn't come on...
