50K is the recommendation by K&N themselves. So, you could stick with that. I do mine once a year (about 15-20K mile) just to get back that clean feeling again

That's a good idea. I thought of doing that, too. Only I would use a paper filter temporarily while I cleaned the K&N. I couldn't find a paper equivalent, though. Where'd you get your 2nd filter from?
