HID in a halogen housing usually looks like high beams on all the time, now THAT is annoying!

Don't you hate that? That and the guys who go around with their high beams on all the time. I will strobe the **** out of them and even then some of them just ignore it and dawdle on blinding everyone else.

Only difference between R34s and regular housings is the shape. You will have to hack it up regardless, spend some time and put some thought into it instead of expecting to be spoon-fed how to copy other people's work.
Yea no need to hack it.

[QUOTE=jessea510;6601473As far as cops go, along as they are aligned properly they shouldn't be a problem because as you can see no light is emitted above the cutoff so you don't blind people unless you go over a speed bump or hill.

All projectors will blind you going over bumps and hills if you havent noticed.

Those look great kzoosho. Eventually i'll get around to posting up some pics of the FX r34 retro. Regardless, those s2000's are nothing short of the most amazing projector ever.

Hey, are those J30 projectors nice, I can get a set of headlights (4 projectors) from a J30 for $90... probably $70 if I negotiate a bit but I haven't bought them yet because they seem huge and I'm not sure if they'll fit in the R34 housing.

If they are bigger than 3 inches you will have problems especially if you are adding a shroud . also are they halogen projectors or hid? if you are looking for hid then don't get halogen projectors and Put hids in them, they are not designed for that. Remember you want to stay OEM to avoid blinding people and have the right cutoff.

Ooo, never thought about the Halogen/HID in the car that I was taking them off of... I suppose they're coming from the S2k when I find one then. Thanks!

The J30 halogen projector will have better characteristics than an A32 halogen reflector when HIDs are added... just not as good as a HID projector. The S2000 is one of the best small diameter HID projectors around.

The J30 output sucks just as bad a halogen reflector.

Yep, don't get J30 low beams unless you are only going for looks. And good god, PLEASE don't put an HID kit in them.

Yes I have to agree with you on that one. no hacking up of the housing and Im my opinion the route r34 modders should leans towards. The only thing I can say I don't like about them is the 2" diameter looks a little small in the housing. But that just my opinion.

Man...makes me want to go to the junk yard and grab some J30 projectors and add them in.. which i just might do soon.. I like the idea.

Btw, what makes the halogen proj different from hid proj? I think I read it before but I don't remember now...

The bowls are different. Most halogen projectors have a smaller bowl and will have a more narrow beam path. U dont want to put j30's in if you plan to run hids thru them. You beam will be narrow and not very good. If you plan to use them as a high beam projector like the op did then you are golden. Get youself a good set of low beam projetors i.e sS2000,ls430,rx330 afs or non if you can find them , or tsx. if you just have to have projector high beams then get the j30's.

No way, I already have the TSX projectors. I want to do like you did with the J30's... looks awesome. I was just at the junk yard a week ago and saw 2 J30's with its proj's in it and I thought it was too big! The junk yard's like an hour away though....... bah!

Hey man, just have a quick question, what projectors are those? S2000's? I'm getting r34's retrofitted and only want the low beam projector, just like in the picture and I was wondering if you have any suggestions on what projector I should purchase. How are those headlights treating you? P.S. those are nice led corner lights, did you make those yourself? Thanks for your time.

that's a good question, it looks like those J30 projectors stick out to much. As long as then lens can be out back on I guess it's o.k.
