Well I istalled my new place racing CAI. I had Jim Wolf before. That thing sucked. Greg I hope you still dont think that Pop Charger is the same as CAI. The sound it makes is amasing! Its bad for your car because I cant stop flooring it to hear the GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Thank you for reading.

Figure it this way, the sooner you break this one, the sooner you can get a 6-speed, 2002 maxima...that way you can get a CAI for that...

Ahh, the memories, I went thru the same thing when my CAI was first put on I'd go just down the block to get groceries, and wind up driving for another hour just looking for an excuse to run, lol!

In the beginning you'll find yourself pushing much harder on the gas just to hear the sound of the intake.
Try flooring it in a tunnel or under an overpass.

It's amazing how impressive the sound for the CAI is.
I love it.

Enjoy!

Does your's whistle?

At certain rpm's when cruising, mine makes a cool, high pitched whistling sound. I dig it.

Does a CAI give a deeper growl than a Pop-charger ??? I also heard CAI's have a kinda sucking vacuum sound. Is that true ?

I had a JWT popcharger. There is a difference over stock. For now I have the Stock Air Box back on with a K&N filter, and the car does not seem to pull as hard to the redline. So there must be some gain from the JWT. Planning on a CAI, but for now just enjoying the quiet VQ that I had forgotten.
The stock box really makes the engine smoother than the JWT.

The CAI is known to sound way better than any POP charger. Yes, there's the deep growl, and, when you're just tipping the throttle, there's this smill hiss, sort of like a turbo when its starting to spool up slowly. The CAI always sounds good, and at WOT, after they hear your VQ roaring, they see you roaring by soon after

Is it possible to turn my POP into a CAI evetually by just running the tubing out to where the regular CAI would be and attach my cone?

Like this?
http://www.users.voicenet.com/~breaux/car/cai/cai.html

Place Racing used to make a Cold Air kit for people who already had the filter and velocity stack. I'm not sure if they still make these.
