EGRR question
EGRR question
Hey guys, my cars running a little boggish at low RPM's feels like it wants to stalll, and i asked my neighbor and a mechanic and they said its possible the MAF or EGR... anyways on my car I have OBX headers, the 2nd design and i didnt install them so i wont be too familiar with them, but im pretty sure the headers dont have an intall for the EGR? so does that mean my car isn't even running on an EGR and that cant be the problem? or is there something else, im really not aware of this but it did not happen right after the headers i did have them on for a year just wondering if i could clean my EGR and if its even hooked up
Have you looked in your engine bay to see if you have your EGR system? With or without a bung designed in, EGR can either be installed or not depending on the installer's decision.
Do you have any codes? Any other driveability issues?

my neighbor said he seen it in the engine bay, soo it doesnt matter if i have a bung or not i should clean it out? and Ive had O2 sesnor codes and a knock sensor code on for a while but they havent done anythin to affect the way my car drove i think i Do have an EGR code as of recent though not sure that is probably my guess?
I wouldn't really look at the EGR as a cause of stalling. Even if it's wide open all the time, the car wouldn't stall it would just have a very poor burn mixture and cause a loss of power. The MAF is a much more reasonable culprit, followed by your idle control valve. If both of those check out fine, look for leaks in the intake tube between the MAF and the throttle body.

If your EGR system is clogged, then it won't necessarily provide a loss of power. If the valve is stuck open, then yes, you will lose power. You're introducing exhaust gases into the intake at all times, and as much as flow will allow.
