Cheapest place for a transmission?
What would be my best place to get a new (or rebuilt if done right) transmission for my 1998 Infiniti I30 with the auto VLSD?

Well, new all you're going to find is Nissan OE units. Dave might be able to get them for $2500 or so.

Rebuilt, any competent shops that rebuild automatics can handle an RE4F04V just fine. Just need either a core, or to have your car down for a while.
