clutch not engaging after trans rebuild

i just finished installing my rebuilt 5 speed and i am having some problems. it seems that i can put it in every gear but when i let the clutch out its like its not actually in gear. almost as if the clutch is not engaging at all. i can put it in gear and it will roll as if it is in neutral. and i did bleed the system. anyone?

PMd you ...

You just answered some of my questions in my PM to you already. So, it goes into gear ok, but doesn't move. I'd say clutch for sure. Did you do the clutch (stage 3) at the same time? Only thing that comes to mind is grease on the friction disk, or you left out the IPS or the diff. I am sure you didn't do either of those so I'm not sure what to say here. Sorry ...

Okay, here's a scenario. In gear, clutch engaged, engine running...what happens when you rev it up? Does just the tach rise, or the speedo as well?

ok, figured it out, i was reallllly flippin scared that something was messed up in the trans itself, but it turns out that i have actually had this problem before haha. It has been a problem before, and bascially when installing my axle, the cv joint likes to slip out. therefore the axles would freely rotate but not spin the wheels. ahhh finallllly. now i just have to get a new cv boot and put it all back together. yay

And as a result you'd be seeing the speedo rise revving it in gear

Good you got it figured out, though.

yep, im satisfied, thanks for the quick replies, and i would recommend to anyone that wants to get a rebuild kit that driveline.com has much better customer service then gt transmissions. i also have a bearing that i received with the gt kit that im going to send back because it is junk and is loud as hell, i ended up using an old bearing because it was still in good shape and even better than the new one.

Glad you got it figured out ... just didn't make sense that it was a trans problem.

That is the first thing I have heard bad about George (GT Trans) ... but if I need any other kits, I'll check out Driveline and see what they might offer. Thanks for the tip!
