Mobil 1 Deal....Advance Auto thru Oct 08

I was at Advance Auto the other day to pick up some new felt anti corrosion pads for my new battery (Deka Intimidator....sweet). Saw that there was a deal on Mobil 1.....5qts of Mobil 1 AND a Mobil 1 oil filter for $30. That's a deal! Would have pulled the trigger right then but was looking for Mobil 1 0-30 in the green cap and they didn't have or carry it. I believe that the deal goes through Oct so I'll check back. Just thought others might be interested. Cheers

$30, that's not a deal. I just bought 5 qts and a filter from Advance for $17, and I had a choice of Pennzoil high mileage, Castrol or Valvoline. You might want to check what other deals they have, my Advance has this special going on thru Columbus day.

yep it is a good deal. actually, because of the "nationwide shortage" of mobil 1 oil, they will honor the deal with any synthetic oil and the mobil 1 filter.

Is it full synthetic? Cause they have deals on part or conventional Mobil 1 for like $10 all the time. Autozone usually has a part-synthetic high mileage formula oil change deal for 10-15 bucks. Or you could spend $50 for some Royal Purple...

My bad, no it wasn't synthetic. But I only use Castrol, Valvoline, Pennzoil or Havoline. I change my oil every 3500 miles so going synthetic would be a waste of $$$.

Mobil 1 is synthetic only Don't confuse it with Mobil dino oil. 5qts of any grade Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 oil filter for $30 is a GREAT deal.

its a nice deal, not a super deal or a bad one, deals like these happen all the time.

most likely once a month thru autozone, pep boys, you name it. sometimes even less but they include a mail in rebate for the filter.

i normally jump on the $7-9 deals, 5 qts/ and filter for dino oil.

I usually go to walmart and get the big container of mobil one for like 22-23 bucks, they have almost 5 quarts in them. I hate having to dump 5 individual quarts into the car, the big ones are much easier, then you can put the old oil in them and take them back to the store for recycling. What is this about a shortage of mobil 1?

...wait... wait a minute... which car are you talking about? the VQ30 doesn't hold 5 quarts.

It takes 4.25 with a filter change...so you'd have to have 5 quarts. They don't sell them by the quarter quart, lol.
