Weird feel in the steering rack

I noticed it a few weeks ago, and it's progressed from there, but it's a weird feeling whenever I turn the wheel, almost like the rack and pinion is catching, also at the extremes of turning there's a slight squealing noise. This only happens right after I start the car, once it warms up, it's perfect. This leads me to believe it's a fluid problem, but I figured I'd post here in case it wasn't. So, if you have any insight, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks,
Clay

Take it to your mechanic, open wallet - job complete.
It could be time to replace them as well.

You will need to tighten the the idler pulley if it the main belt. There is a bolt on the front of it, once it it loose just a bit you can crank in down to take some slack out or the belt. If it is the PS belt its a little more in depth. A Haynes repair book from your local auto parts store will be GOOD help.
