do a couple searches on youtube or check out the exhaust thread in this forum for some sound clips.

Im not sure about the glasspack, but i have had a few mufflers on my 4thgen,

I have a warpspeed y-pipe, magnaflow high-flow cat, and a pacesetter catback.

Overall this setup sounded very good, wasnt overly loud, and was very tolerable for daily driving.

I wasnt a fan of the pacesetter muffler, so i removed it and put on a Thrush fully welded 2 chamber muffler. This setup sounded pretty awesome, and is pretty comparable to a flowmaster on one of these cars. However after about 2 weeks, i decided it was too loud.

So i put on a Thrush super turbo, its louder than the stock muffler, quieter than the pacesetter, and still sounds very good at higher rpms. It is a lot quieter than the 2 chamber.

I would say a glasspack will have a very similar sound as the 2 chamber i had on previously.

I still have that muffler and it has hangers welded to it, if you have a stock b-pipe, you would need an exhaust shop to weld it on since the stock pipe has a flange on it, and the aftermarket b-pipes IME do not. If you would be interested in buying it shoot me a pm.

Why a glasspack when you have several exhaust choices? Do your research. Do it right from the start.

I have a Warpspeed y-pipe and a 2.5" Cherrybomb glasspack (flipped backwards) in place of my stock muffler with a SS 3" oval tip. Everything else on the exhaust is stock. It sounds AMAZING! I wish I had a good recording device to post a sound clip but I don't. It sounds better, IMO, than most other Maxima's with aftermarket exhaust setups! It's very deep but not drony or super loud at all! Alot of people says it sounds mean and alot like a V8. Which is exactly what I wanted other than the huge performance gain I got with my setup.

Well, let me explain more.

Main reason I'm looking into getting a glasspack is a. they are cheap b. i'm going to need a new muffler after winter, wouldn't mind having a nice sound to it

not looking into a whole exhaust right now, just the muffler. i've heard good and bad so i was just wondering what you guys thought about those.

4 year old video, 1st half is a $20 glasspack and intake, nothing else.

My buddy had an sp1. My car was slightly louder, tone was pretty close. Its worth it for the sound if thats all you are after.

GTFO and spray paint your dash some more.

I've never really been a fan of glasspacks because of the cars I did hear them on, they didn't sound that good. However JSutter, yours turned out pretty good.

Thanks for the video JS i really like the way it sounds. Not too loud it seems, and it's nice and deep.

So in the video is there a tip on there or is that just the muffler we're seeing. You'll have to excuse my exhaust ignorance XD

Cheap, hells yah:

The tip is from VIP, its a clamp on Pilot Motor sport. I have used those for 6 years. I cut the inlet off an old rusted out muffler and clamped it onto the glass pack. I got a 2' section of threaded rod and bent it for the hanger and used a 4" dryer vent clamp to secure the rod to the muffler. It probably cost me $30 total. No one cared what it was, they just said it sounded great Thats not my bag anymore however.

Honestly though, it sounded fine with the stock y pipe, but was way too loud with an aftermarket y.

BTW Just because it has a flashy name on it doesnt mean much. A glass pack really wont sound or perform much different than an expensive stright through muffler, *cough* Stillen *cough*.
