P0440 evap code?

I recently failed inspection because of CEL and when I pulled code it was p0440. I have searched the forum and it seems like that it a pretty generic code for evap leak. I don't have any other codes to narrow it down. I don't have the time or place (it's cold outside) to check each component of evap system. A little over a year ago I did replace the evap vent control valve so that's one thing that should be ok. I do think my catalytic converter is pretty old. Could that be a possible cause and if so what kind of cat would you recommend? Thanks.

Your catalytic converter has absolutely nothing to do with the P0440 code, so you can rest easy there.

Check the canister, lines and valve behind the left rear wheel.
