Re-Wirring Question

Just wondering what everyone means by, when they put re-wired front lights or whatever as a mod. Thanks.

they rewire the cornering lights next to the headlights to make them brighter..

see in 95 and 96 the maxima cornering lights would light up whenever the car was indicated to turn and this lighting socket is a dual filament socket using a dual filament bulb (1157), meaning it has two filaments 27w and 8w. The 8w is constant and the 27w would light up when the car was indicated to turn.

This feature was done away with in 97 and maxima owners found that if you rewired the lights and made the 27w stay on constant, it was more appealing and matched the headlights.

some others use a single filament bulb (1156) and file the nub down and this will give that effect also..

Personally i have done the one in the link above, which is a bit more involded and will require you to solder and also remove the clearance light.

There's also the front blinkers rewire.

Where the wiring results in alternate blinking with lights are on, the markers blinking in sync when lights are off, and normal marker operation when not blinking.

I saw this over the weekend on a max and it looks real cool. Especially with the clear corners in there. I think I am gonna go for this soon. I recomend it anyway.

You also have the fog light rewire which allows you to turn on your fogs without your headlights and also with your high beams. I have done all 3 rewires and love them all.
