Accelerator Issues

When I pull up to a light the car will jerk upon take off, and now the car sometimes wont even move. Not sure what the problem is and going to look at things closer tonight, but wanted to get some advice on where to start looking.
--> 96 GXE automatice Maxima with 300K. Rebuilt engine after 200K.

I would lean towards the transmission slipping.
If your engine revs fine, obviously it's not the engine, so the next logical step is your transmission.
When did you change your transmission fluid and how is your transmission?
I'm not an expert, but it's a direction I can point you in.

yeah your accelerator is broken. :-p

I'll assume the tranny is auto..when it used to "work" did it feel like there was a delay after you pressed the pedal followed by a jolt forward all the sudden before it would start moving? Would it rev up before the car started moving?(called slipping).

Chillen... I have that exact problem when i push on the gas pedal the car will rev up to about 2000rpm's and finally put around like its a stick shift and i have to feather the gear in.. haha but when i first start it and put it in drive it feels like its being jammed into gear... like a weird jolt

yeah sound like the tranny slipping. COuld be clutch packs in tranny or torque converter. Either way, prolly cheaper to get another used tranny.
