Rear Brake Caliper Sticking
Rear Brake Caliper Sticking
The parking brake portion of my rear caliper is sticking. Makes for some hot rotors! Anyone rebuild there brake caliper? I have a '97 with 65K miles.
There could be two causes for the rear brake dragging. The caliper or the brake cables could be stuck. Before going to the expense of replacing the caliper, I would suggest that you check the cables and lubricate as required.
The rear caliper pistons screw out to compensate for pad wear. You may want to screw them back in to regain clearance between the pads and the rotors. Setting and releasing the parking brake several times should take up the slack.
