4th Gen Maxima Needed to Prototype New Maxima Exhaust!!

As many of you know their is not to many choices for an exhaust for your Maxima. CustomMaxima.com is working with another company to design a complete stainless steel cat-back exhaust exclusively for Nissan Maxima's.

I need a Maxima in the Los Angeles area that will be willing to let engineers use your Maxima to ensure proper fitment, and to tune the exhaust for optimal tone level. Should be two short sessions.
REQUIRED TO HAVE A STOCK B-PIPE....a b-pipe is the section between the cat. converter and the muffler.

You will given a substantial discount on the finished product, that will be available before Christmas.

IF INTERESTED PLEASE EMAIL: GREG@CUSTOMMAXIMA.COM

Any idea how much this bird is gonna cost ? I won't be able to afford it if it's priced like Greddy's cat-backs, but the muffler would work.

God bless you Greg, you are really pioneering alot of cool stuff for the Nissan Maxima.

Question

Will this new exhaust be like the Apexi WS or more along the lines of a Greddy?

Not sure yet which one it will be more like. It is a complete new setup that is being designed around the Maxima, not like the Greddy that was designed for another car then modified to fit the Maxima.

Thanks for the emails, I will reply to them with all the info you need.

This is cool. What I don't like about Greddy is their HUGE tips. I would LOVE to see a nice cat-back with a more conservative tip, that's cut at an angle like the stocker. Like the size of Stillen's S/S mufflers tip, only cut at an angle. I also love that deep defined grumble. Not droning. Something like a pop-charger...MmMmMm...

If you made something along the lines as the Greddy Evolution exhaust system i would be down for that. Greg, you seem to be on top of everything, you're making it hard for a college student to buy all the goodies you're providing for the maxima.

I'd like to see a tip like the one used on the IS300. 3.5" should be the max size. Big tips are old news. Also make DAMN sure that you're using a baffled and chambered muffler. If you don't, no one will want it because it will be very loud. Please consider on making the catback so that some of us could just purchase the muffler so we can fit it to our Stillen B-pipes.

would this new exhaust system have the same stock mounting locations for the muffler? I really would like to keep my stillen muffler but benefit the rest of the cat back. thanks

wow! Greg, you are doing so much for us; I really appreciate it! I wish you luck in this endeavor...hopefully if my car holds up, I will be able to get the new exhaust from you, not Greddy. I agree about their tip though...I want more of a sleeper look. Anyway, thanks for working for us!

what kind of power would this exhaust system add? i was under the impression exhaust for maximas usually add minimal power and too much noise?

well you have to realize that just changing the exhaust system will not give you that much horsepower gain, probably only 5-8 at the most. But using it in conjuncton with a y-pipe will be most efficient. My main goal is to make it look nice, like you all suggested, it will not have a huge tip, but a more sleek look to match the rear of the maxima. And I think the most immportant part is for it to have a nice deep tone. No raspy noise or pops, just a nice throaty sound with the stock y-pipe and aftermarket y-pipe.

Maybe a little smaller than the greddy but I wouldn't go to much lower, unless you wanna look like a sleeper. Personally I like the big tips.

I just want in on this thread so I'll know what's going on. I really wish I was in LA. Maybe it's time for a drive.
