Brakes question

A few days ago I backed into a curb in front of my apartment causing damage to muffler, it was hanging on by a clamp. Well yesterday on the way to WalMart all of a sudden the muffler starts to scrap on the road.So the next morning I look under the car to find out that the bar of the muffler ris on the brake cable so now im having Brake issues, I tried filling it back with brake fluid but as soon as I start the car it drains out. How would I know if thats the cause of this? if you look at this picture and look to the right side the long skinny arm that attatches to the car is the piece that was on the brake card.

The 'bar' of the muffler being the hanger?

Did you look for exactly where the brake fluid is draining from?

You say it was on a brake cable, do you mean the parking brake cable? There's no brake fluid there.

it sounds like from your description that you severed your rear brake line. you say you are losing fluid, can you pinpoint where the fluid is leaking from. you are going to need to replace that section. if you are lucky it is just the flexible rubber section if you are unlucky it is the solid line and its probably going to be a pain the the ***

Is it a cable or a hose?

Then the exhaust probably just burned a hole in it. Is that where the brake fluid is leaking out of?

Just replace the hose.

Well something is obviously leaking if you're losing brake fluid.

Why are you even driving the car with no brakes? You're just asking for an accident.

Look at where all of the brake fluid is coming from, that'll show you where the leak is. If it's that hose, then replace it.
