weird problem

weird problem

me and a friend of mine just got a 95 maxima from his grandmother who has had it since 95. the car always ran great and all no problems. but the car has been sitting now for about 6 months. i tried to go start it the other day and when i connected the new battery the lights started flashing. so i was like ok the alarm is going off. the only problem is there is no longer a key fob she lost it about 10 years ago she said. is there anyway i can get around this alarm? im a mechanic myself but i have never ran into this before. i know there is probably something legal or something that may be holding someone back but if you want to PM me and talk in private thats fine. thanks in advance!

You did try unlocking the driver's side door or the trunk via the key, right? And yes, stock security system issues have been discussed to death around here, but they've died down as of late.

Buy a keyfob from someone and programm it to your car. Or....when the alarm goes off unlock your car with the key from either door. You gotta search these things. They're easy to find.

try unlocking from driver side door or starting up car and unlocking. seen it work before...

ive tried to search about 10 different things and nothing pops up. i hate searches myself.
trying to find out about suspension and it pulls something from gen 5 or 6. lol
but i do the search in 4th gen. wth
someone post a reply telling people how to use search! thanks

get a frickin used fob off of ebay and program it. takes like 2 seconds to do. about 20.00 for a fob.

i have an issue with my security system and the stock alarm has a mind of its own. my advice would be to simply cut the security system out or at least pull the fuse. i've been to mechanics and remote starter places and they both told me to remove it.

If the stock alarm goes off at random, it's most likely the trunk switch. There's a TSB on it.
