P1105 code. confusion about finding a sensor

My car, 1997 max, sometimes idles rough and RPM gets really low like the car is about to stall. I went to autozone and they told me that I have a code P1105 aka manifold absolute pressure sensor. I searched around forums and found that's a sensor that says "boost" on it located close to radiator cap. But the maxima repair guide EC-322 shows sensor having 3 duct lines instead of just 1 on the sensor that says "boost" on it. Is Autozone's website showing the right sensor?
http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm

I checked lines around the sensor and they seem to be secure and in good condition. Is the sensor that says "boost" on it the one I should be checking?

One more thing, when i was looking for a MAP sensor, I found a "loose" line that has a plastic connector in it that allows it to swivel. It's was located next to the sensor that says boost on towards the front of the engine. I looked around and did not find anything disconected. The rubber tube seems to be attached somewhere in a transmission. Is it a drain pipe of some sort? I don't think it was a vacuum line because there was no suction in it. Some info would be appreciated. Thanks

It's a vent hose, leave it disconnected.

Have you tested the solenoid valve yet? That's what you should do first before replacing the boost sensor.

Also make sure all of the hoses going to the SSV are connected and in good condition.

Where do I find solenoid valve? How does it look like? How do I check it?

Thanks.

You said you had the FSM, correct? All of that info is on the very page that covers P1105 (EC-277 for your car).

Thanks for the info! I just figured out that absolute pressure sensor and MAP/Baro are not the same thing. Going to find my multimeter and test both of the sensors to make sure they are functioning. Just replaced my extremely squeaking idler pulley. Hopefully nothing else goes bad...

Bump. I'm still battling this code an a P0105 (which might be related - changed that sensor too) and can't fix it. Replaced the hoses as well.

I'm not good with multi-meters. Anything else I can try?

Testing "Boost" sensor

I'm piggy backing this thread, because I am also getting the P0105 code.

I've done one test of the "Boost" sensor -- the voltage is in the correct range with no vaccuum. To do the second test, I'd need a hand vaccuum pump which I don't have. How likely is it that the sensor itself is bad vs. something else down the line? (In other words, should I go ahead and buy the used but tested sensor being sold on eBay?)

Another thing, after erasing the code with my ODBII reader, the code comes back immediately upon turning the ignition key to the on position. (I'm pretty sure, I didn't even re-start the engine.) Does that help narrow the answer to my question?

Thanks for your help.

Sure it's a complete DE-K swap, and not just the 00VI?

Are you looking for a vacuum diagram of a '96, or a '00? Or are you looking for vacuum routing for a DE-K or 00VI swapped A32? They aren't the same.

Have you looked through any 00VI threads for vacuum routing information?
