Its simple....

move your auto stick to the gear indicator 1 and when you rev high enough slam into 2...then turn O/D off and slam into D to get 3rd and turn on OD to get 4th....guess what you have a manual....no really you do.

Honestly your 3rd post was to ask this.

Try looking next time.

dam, that looks like alot of sh#$ to get just to swap to 5 speed....crap i've been looking so much to find a maxima 5 speed and found so many that are just what i want but automatic which i cannot have, so i figured hey, to convert a civic to 5 speed isn't that bad, surely its not that bad with a maxima too....WRONG.

ugh...i guess swapping to 5 speed is out of the question with a maxima, thanks for inadvertantly answering the first topic i was gonna post about without searching lol

It's no big thing, if you have the parts it only takes a day or two. I did my swap for under $600, and that's with a bunch of extra parts, ACT clutch, new master/slave, SS clutch line, etc.

If you look at other cars, swapping the A32 is easy.

Paul ... I see you got your own "" ... LOL I love it!

Also, it's tons more work to swap in the 6spd ... at least the 5spd will bolt right up, no new mounts to deal with and the issues with shifter are minimal with the 5spd vs the 6spd.

My own special smiley.

Yep, not to mention setting up the shifter cables, the new shifter, etc.

I wouldn't mind a 6MT, though...after having driven Merlyn's old max, I like the feel of a cable shifter rather than a rod.

Then again, my current setup is crap...we'll see after I get a new shifter bushing and a new trans.
