1106 code

I recently started feeling my tranny start to slip for some reason i dont manually shift it at all so i checked my codes.Sometimes it slips and sometimes it doesnt, its weird it rev up till about 3000 in first gear then the car starts to moved forward.Then while sitting on a hill tranny doesnt hold, the car rolls back . Also when i put it in reverse the car seems like its in neutral same when in drive.

1106=Improper shifting to 4th gear A/T
What can cause this code to be thrown?

how often does it slip? everytime, once a week, one time ever while you were standing on your head doing the hokie pokie?
Also because crazier things have happened, check the basics, fluid level, fluid CONDITION, make sure no broken wires and such

Did you check that with PMohr's code checker (sticky)?

I'd throw in the updated TSB solenoid kit, and definitely drop the pan to check for material. If you see a lot of crap in the pan, I'd get another trans, throw in the new solenoids, and hope for the best.

That code signified the death of...3? of my autos. Maybe 2, they all kind of blend together.
