P0420 and P0440 code help
So my SES light is pulling up the following codes:
Model Year1998Flashing CEL code0702OBD-II Standard P CodeP0420Code DescriptionCatalytic Converter Fault![](http://boredmder.com/ecucodes/1998/0702.png)
Model Year1998Flashing CEL code0705OBD-II Standard P CodeP0440Code DescriptionEVAP Small Leak![](http://boredmder.com/ecucodes/1998/0705.png)
In november i replaced my evap canister aswell as the fuel line neck and fuel cap and also the evap vent valve. Just 2 weeks i replaced my spark plugs, and these codes have been there for a bit over a month now. I also bought some oxygen sensors but have not had a chance to put them on. Also in October of last year my oem cat had a hole in it and therefore i took it to a muffler shop to replace with a aftermarket catback. i have done my regular oil change, air filter is fine so not sure what the problem is. For the evap im guessing that maybe there is a leak in one of the tubes.
thanks,
chris

What does a catback have to do with replacing the converter?
Have you tested the rear O2, to see if it's operating properly?
Search around for P0440, look for the most common solutions. Otherwise, you're going to have to go over every inch of the EVAP system.

no i have not checked the rear 02 but i did purchase three new oem 02 sensors and i wanted to wait till i change the catback(this summer i plan to change it) before i put on the new 02s. dam but since ive done the vent valve and canister i hope its just a small leak on teh line
