spilled coffee and stuck overdrive

well here is a story about coffee and oops I should clean before ordering parts.
.

February 7 2009 after a hard days work in my national guard unit. I leave for home at 1600 hours. while en route to my home I notice the OD lamp is stuck in the on position, which means my MPG will suck on the way home. after getting on the highway home the OD light goes out. while at home that night I order me a brand new shifter with the OD switch built in for 60 bucks from courtesy .

..

ff to yesterday . I remove all the crap in the way of installing my new **** with switch, only to discover that the connector assembly that includes the OD switch is still in a pool of spilled coffee from feb 7 2009 . so I wasted my bucks on the **** but learned a lesson. check out the crap before ordering parts.

He didn't say leaving overdrive on, he said the 'OD lamp', meaning the OD Off indicator light on the cluster, meaning he would've been cruising around in 3rd.

i spilled an orange drink into the shifter in my auto 95 and it would'nt go into gear until it warmed up. frickin drove it like that for 2 weeks and finally replaced the shifter selenoid which froze internally due to the soda. doh. 1 week later i did it again and my mechanic said to dump a little water in there and it will flush the orange crap off of the selenoid b4 it dries up and sticks inside the selenoid again. it worked!!!! live and learn.....
