P0171 ~ Yes Sorry

So I still have this P0171 have read that it can be something from a
bad coil, maf or vacum leak from or to the vac canister, or the boost sensor

I've had my intake all ripped apart and checked every single vac line I could find and the area ~ all connected fine > No Go

Also swapped boost sensors with a known working one > No Go

I've read it could be a coil pack, but I'm not throwng any codes for this. I did however have a stripped coilpack, although it's in there pretty snug so I don't think that could be the problem. > 00vi coils > No Go

Last but not least the MAF ~ Reasons for thinking the maf is the issue is I was driving one day and looked down at my WB02 and it just dropped. everytime I accelerate it goes to about 12:1 (I'm N/a) But if I keep it at a constant Thr% it will sit right at 14.7.

And I know sometimes the MAF doesn't throw codes. only thing is I JUST got a new maf not even 15k miles ago, so unless I bought a bad maf > No Go

LMK what you guys think. I don't want to go out and spend a bunch of money finding this solution as I need to get a new tranny here in the next few days and am On a tight budget.

~Thanks

My P0171 ended up being my 00VI. It HAD to have a vaccum leak somewhere. As soon as I put my stock one back on, code was gone. Either that, or putting the stock stuff back on AND changing the ECTS (engine coolant temp sensor) fixed it for me.

All I know is, I had that issue for like 6 months. Replaced coils, plugs, fuel filter, fuel line, boost sensor, 3 different MAF's, and nothing. As soon as I got rid of the 00VI/replaced ECTS, it was gone.

Yes but 00vi is Powa.

And idk, I figure having a vac leak somewhere in the intake manifold will raise your idle not lower it. I took off my UIM like 8 times, and the last time I got all new gaskets and sealed it up extremely well so I'm 99.99% sure there is no leak in the intake manifold. As the car sits it has a bad idler pulley and big exhaust leak so it's hard to hear something small like a vac leak. -_-

Well it's a possibility. Change your ECTS then and see if that helps. It's a $20 part and took me like 10 minutes to change out. Hell, I'd do it as preventive maintenance.

It's also a possibility that something was wrong with my fuel rail/regulator on the 00VI rail. Which is why going back to stock fixed all of my issues.

I dunno, all I know is I'm glad I'm stock and no longer having issues. 170whp is enough for me lol. I got talked into getting the 00VI and it was a rash decision.
