I was wondering - If I were to get my 5speed rebuilt do I have alternatives to the stock gearing? Does anyone make gears that would make my car faster by using slightly different gear ratios? I think my synchros are going so I may need some tranny work in the future so if I can get more power too - sweet. Thanks for any responses.

 

BIG bucks, and the power increase could be cheaper via a supercharger or other mods.

nope....no go on that one...the gears would have to be custom...plus the maxima's gearing is great right now...why would you want to change it???

 

I didn't know if somehow I could change first or seconds ratios. I remember that changing the gearing ratio in my Jeeps differential affected its acceleration considerably. I'm happy w/ the stock gearing but wasn't sure if there were other options (read as faster car). Thanks for the response though.
