replaced knock sensor now car not starting..it tries then it dies.any ideas whats wrong..Tried loosening it and even tightening it . Car wont start ..did not mess with anything else just the knock sensor
sounds like some sort of intake leak thats my guess, assuming u removed the upper and lower plenum, make sure no rubber or wires got caught in between the plenum and everything is connected once again.
The KS has nothing to do with the engine starting or running. You need to go back over your work area again, see what you didn't reconnect.
hate not being able to make a thread yet...
I havent checked my CEL for a few months seeing as how i only thought i would get 0304. but after checking it this morning i got 0304 and 1008. I then reset it and when i turn the car back on no CEL.
Well I go to start my car tonight and its idling at about 500 rpm.. it still drove fine, drove about 20 miles street and freeway, and everything else worked fine, lights A/C ect. The low idling caused it to stall twice. Now I cant even get it to start.. garages are closed till morning so i thought i would try here first. any ideas at all? And still no CEL

Got it, I think.
So After a little bit of play this morning, going over everthing I touched when I checked by CEL. I fixed my problem.
I guess I may have done something to the screw on my ECU. I noticed that I had accidentally twisted it to far past the stopping position. I turned the car on and started to turn the ECU screw a bit and the revs jumped right back up to normal no problems there.
ANyone else ever run into something like this?
