Question on head unit

Hi!! I'm going to get a alpine MD+3CD double din head unit for my 99 maxima, the car originally came with the BOSE head unit. I'm wondering if I need to get a new set of speakers along with this head unit, or I can just stay with the stock BOSE speakers.

thanks

You can run the stock speakers but since they each have a separate amp you will need to purchase a signal converter to lower the signal sent from a higher powered aftermarket unit to the Bose amps. I have read that some people have had problems doing so. If you do a search or look in the Audio section you'll find more info. And you'll definitely need an antenna adaptor.

Yeah, Ravq beat me to it. You'll need converters for both the antenna and the speakers. If you have the money why not get some nice components and an amp for the front speakers (will sound much nicer and use your Alpine to the fullest)and run the rears off headunit? Check out Crutchfield.com.

thanks for replying guys!!! i'll definitely get some nicer speakers once i have more money, starting to save money now. just that before i get those new speakers, i'll have to stick with the stock one, and there shouldn't be any problem with it, rite? what're the choices for the speakers? i heard the mb quart and ji audio are pretty good. also one more question, have you guys experienced of putting the ground control coilovers on ur cars? this's what happened...i got a used set awhile ago from ebay, well not sure if they're really for maxima, but i did check the spring rate with eibach and they seem are for my car, anyway after i put on my car, i figured out that only the front can be lowered up to 3 inches, but definitely not for the rear, i have no idea why this's happening, i really appreciate if u guys can answer this question as well
thanks

sorry - I don't know much about the coilovers. Do a search. As for speakers, I like Boston's alot and no you shouldn't have any problems - just make sure you get the adaptors. Good luck w/ the coilovers.

forget trying to find a converter to make them low level...your best option (until you can amp speakers) is to find a bypass harness for your amp...crutchfield.com i believe has them. but by far your best option would be to amp all your speakers if you have the money...trust me, ive been installing stereos for 8 years, and i am going to compete soon.
