Audio heLP
i own 97 se 5sp, here is my setup i am thinking about
1. Use the orginal bose deck, puts out enough range of sound and i don'pt want to put out the cash money.
2. I want to take 2 infinity kappa perfect 12's and put them in my trunk wiht the bose system. Here is my plan.
Alright,
1. Run the power for my RF800a2 from the battery by going through the firewall, underneath the seats and up into my trunk. 2. Next i want to take my rear speakers, and strip the wires, and run them into teh amp, that has a built in crossover, do u think that will work? From there i would do the normal hook up, and to power the amp use a PLD, i think thats what it is called.
So finally, i would have
Power from PLD into amp
Sound frequency coming from my back speakers--stripped the wrise and run them into the amp where the RCA's normally go, and then bridge the subs @ 1 ohm...i think thats right...and wahlaa. i be done

I just used the directions on the MaxFAQ's page and bought some little box things from Circuit City that converted the signal...figured better safe than sorry and they only cost like 20 bucks...no problems from it at all though
Amp -> speakers
Hey, you can do that, just take the speaker level connections and go right to the spade terminals on the speakers. In other words, look at your speakers and you see the wires go from the little BOSE black box next to the speaker, to the speaker. Unplug the terminals on the speakers and that eliminates the BOSE amp. As long as you wire directly from the amp to the +/- speaker terminals, you are doing what you described.
Next step: you could even do the same for the fronts and run all 4 BOSE off of the 2 channels of the amp(I assume its 2 channels). After using the crossover, you will be sending the mids and highs to the rears and the doors and the lows to your subs. It will sound great.
I have done several systems using a 2 channel tri-mode capable amp, and a three way crossover to run 4 speakers and one or two subs. As long as you have an amp that will run at low impedence you are all set.
