Long story short I used the manual trunk switch to disable the keyfob trunk release and trunk release button on the door because i parked in some shady area and had some valuables in the trunk. When I went to open the trunk manually with my key it didn't open. The key doesn't even turn in the cylinder. I bought the car used and never really used this feature until now. The key that was given to me works absolutely fine in the ignition, glove box, and doors but it won't work with the trunk. My trunk is now closed and I have no way of opening it. Does anybody know if that switch can be re-enabled and reached through the rear seat pass through? If so can I move the switch with the trunk closed? Is there an emergency trunk release lever? I have a 1997 SE and I'm pretty sure cars weren't required to have the emergency trunk release inside the trunk yet. PLEASE HELP!!

 

Yes, you can move the switch with the trunk closed and through the pass through, if you search many have had to.

No, there's no emergency release.

 

i did this once and couldnt reach through the back seats thanks to my subs, so i took a flat head screw driver and broke through the lock but damaged the trunk as well, in the end i had to get a new trunk, it is not that eazy if ur going to try breaking through the trunk and not damaging it as well
