Not unless it burns out. That's the only way I see it.

First of all, holy hell your post was hard to read.

Second, yes, if the problem triggering the code is fixed/stops happening, after a while it will clear the code(s) by itself.

holy crap...agreed with pmohr....your post is ridiculous hard to read..and you even edited your post, i wonder what the hell it was before.

Anyways, the only time i know that the cel will come on and off by itself has to do with the o2 sensor. The o2 sensor is intermittently failing. It still works, but not properly. Mine has been doing that and my mileage hasn't really been hurting. I usually don't like to fix things until i absolutely have to. But that's just me...

I will translate:

My CEL turns on and off by itself, every few times. i know it's the O2 sensor on the intake i just jiggle it alittle and it goes off.

i got an emissions code on my max last week. im pretty sure its the gas cap because i got gas 2 days before the code came on . Is that going to eventually go off on its own?

If the issue is intermittent, and the issue is temporarily (or permanently) alleviated for a predefined number of system cycles, the light can go off. I take it yours turned off spontaneously?

I just had my CEL come on about 2 days ago and shut off after driving about 50 miles....?????

I had this happen to me earlier on in the year too...

Not sure what is going on, but car is running just fine.

Got 177,000 on her and it seems everything is working.

Wondering if the extreme temps here in WI has something to do with it

I don't have a code reader or I would have figured out more about what is going on.

I have seen it happen in cases where it was not a "hard" code

Yeah, I've had O2 sensors throw the CEL on and off before. Doesn't mean the problem is fixed however…
