The strut boot moved out of position(moved down) on my 1997 GLE. Now the boot is constantly squeeking and rattling. Does anyone know how to move it back up into position. Does the top strut mount need to be loosened to move it back into position. Thanks for any help.

 

it's permanently part of the assembly. You'll need to replace it. May be a good time to consider new struts too especially if you have a lot of miles.
