Stupid obd is still not ready after over 700 miles. Failed inspection because of faulty o2 sensor, had shop replace it and now after 4 turnaways and 730 miles obd still isnt ready. They scanned it and there are no codes either, becoming very irritated!

it fails because the obd is being shown as not ready. usually you drive a certain pattern to get all the catalysts ready in a short period of time but after 700 miles is should have already been reset.

Have you tried following the driving cycle as per the FSM? You could drive the rest of your life, and still not meet the criteria present for the driving cycle.

Based on which state you are in, there is a waiver for the 96-98 Maxima. Those years have a history of NOT being ready for inspection. Call your local DMV office to inquire about the waiver process.

Have you tried finding one of those "ghetto" shops that you just need to pay $25ish and they will just give you a pass? I have never went through a true inspection. I'm always in and out in 5mins with my paperwork and sticker. I know its kinda illegal but beats having to go through all that stuff.
