Bolt on Performance?

Hey

Finally I'm allowed to post...yay!

Other then the 00vi Setup, Cold air intake, y-pipe (and the rest of the exhaust), ecu upgrade (for rev limiter) is there any other sort of bolt ons that give more hp?

Herd headers don't do much.

Also for the 00vi people, what setup has everyone done, any do setup 5 from Tatanko's list? any IACV issues? things I should worry about during the setup? Tips? Tricks?

Will I run lean or richer using the stock injectors...am thinking just a tad lean?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Have you searched at all?

This has been covered thousands of times in this subforum.

If you want to know about the 00VI...search. You'll find everything you want to know.

FWIW he has listed that the IACV needs an adapter plate for the 'number 5' setup, but it doesn't.

Don't forget the MEVI.

And there are other 'bolt on' kits available for a lot more power, including the supercharger and turbo kits available.

Also, the 3.5. Needs some electrical work, but it does bolt right in.

Yah, I knew about it not needing an IACV adaptor plate as i've talked to Tatanko about it. As for the bolt ons I don't want to go supercharger or turbo as of yet. Just N/A for now.

Plus is it safe to turbo a maxima that has 150k miles on it? prolly 8-10 psi

Depends on how healthy the engine is.

FWIW PSI means nothing, it's all about the turbo you're using.

If you're looking for a good amount of power for relatively cheap, just do a 3.5 swap. Problem solved.

And yes, there's a detailed writeup for it. And over a hundred threads on it.

Set-up #1 is probably the easiest....pretty much a direct bolt on aside from a little splicing of wires. And whatya know...i actually have setup #1 for sale

I concur.

I can take some snap shots of my set up before i rip it all apart.. I have all de-k components. But imo what you need is a pic by pic installation with at least one of the setups

Are you auto or 5 speed? Modding a maxima is dumb. I came to realize that after I did all the mods that are in my sig. And my cars still slower than a stock 95 caddy STS.

No it can't...

On paper a 95 sts runs a 14.7
your 4AT 4th gen runs almost a full second slower - 15.5-15.7

My friend has the caddy and I've ran him MANY times, with my mods.
And he pulls on me at 90 EVERY time.

Damn dude if you hate your car that much why dont you just sell it. I dont see how you could go though 3 engines. I beat the crap out of my maxima and its still running strong. I have even tried reving all the way to 7800 and it still wont go @187k I can see how you could go though a few trannys though.

I want to trade it for another stock Maxima. it's a good DD but that's about it.
The first tranny and engine went both at 190k, blew the main bearing.
Got a new engine with 40k, probably has close to 60k now. Very strong engine. But the OD on the new tranny broke, so I had to replace it ONCE again. And now the new tranny is even ****. Idk what's wrong with the car, but I've had probem after problem for the last 6 years. Nothing else. The car is lucky to go a month without having to fix something.

from zeroto60times.com

1995 Cadillac STS 0-60 mph 6.3 Quarter mile 14.5

But on the flip side the 2008 still have pretty similar #'s

I see you changed your sig though least your heading the right way.

I look for times on here, since they've seem to always be consistant.

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

IF, the caddy is suppose to run a 14.5 I'd be a LITTLE happier. I'd have to take it to the track to find out for sure. But some random issue would probably come up on the way I'm sure.
