say goodbye to another 4th gen with me.

she was a 95 with 116k miles on her and loads of room to go. it just sucks. guy said he had a green arrow which would mean i ran a red little about 5 seconds after it turned red (not possible). i think he had the green light and just 'went' for it thinking he could beat me threw the intersection.

it was an experience, open your eyes all you see is white from all the gunpowder, takea deep breath and start gagging with a guy banging on the window asking if i was ok. and of course i cant get out of the driver door so i had to get out the passenger door.

i just hope they can prove its his fault, otherwise i wont have a car for a while.... :/

Unless you had witnesses or video it may be a hard one to prove, insurance is basically going to say since the impact is somewhat infront of you and not after your vision on the side you would probably lose. What did the report say? The cop had to determine fault, if he determines no fault, the odds are stacked against you unless you had a witness. Been there done that.

no witnesses stayed. about 30 people saw it and just drove around us. one person called 911 and left and another person helped me and the other driver our of the cars and left :/

and i am going to call around the area tomorrow to see if there is any survelliance video of any kind. cause it would def help of course.

and the cops (here in texas at least) dont determine fault. they come to make sure everyone is ok and to call wreckers and get your info to make a police report. anything they put on the report is opinion (as i was told by one of the officers)

its been a while since i updated this. but he pretty much is getting away with his lie. the cop wrote on the report that i had an apparent disregard for the traffic signal and it had to have been red because of the skid marks before the light and the fact my car was so far to the right. which i had told her i started to stop before the light because i did not want to hit him and swerved to the right to try to dodge him.

BUT apparently the fact of me slowing down before the intersection MUST mean that i knew i had a red light and tried to stop. so im ****ed. and i have no proof to prove my innocence and liability insurance only. car got towed a couple hours ago to get crushed. such a wasted good car.

If there were so many good parts left and you only had liability, why did you tell or let them take the car and not get anything for it?? I dont get it.

no where to store the car, it was on the street till someone called the cops on it in which i had to get it out by today. i wanted to part it out so bad but dad didnt want to deal with it and we have no room in our garage.

it is a sad story and makes me even sadder i couldnt sell off parts.

Sad to hear but I'll scream this from the house tops so people may hear and realize that without a witness, it's your word against theirs, and being hit in the front , anything your eye can see the insurance will say you should have seen it coming. It's hard to do especially since we are usually shaken up in an accident so it may not be on our mind at the time to grab a witness's phone number and or info.

ya and i had told the cop exactly what happened (which turns out to be why i got hit where i did sadly) because i slowed down and tried to swerve out of the way. and yes with about 30 cars at the 4 way fairly busy intersection no one stayed. a guy helped us out of our cars but left after. it really does make me a little sad talking about it tbh. heh im such a puss.

i just missed hitting some old guy in a new pontiac grand prix when he cut in front of me yesterday. i rolled my window down ans said" real smooth motherfer, smooth. he smirked and did'nt look at me . it looked like he shook his head as if to say, duh, im a dumb *** old man. there was a cop faced the opposite way going up the hill, but the old geezer cut left in front of me and it would've been his fault. i freaked when i saw him cut left and i skid 6 feet and missed him by a foot. sorry about your max, been down that road a few times, last summer i rear ended a toyota highlander and did 2,500 dollars worth of damage, arrrrggggggg

Same thing happened to me. People just drove around the the smoking wreckage of my car. No one wants to get involved. The axx ran an red and I piledrove him in his side. Since they couldn't find a clearcut answer they determined no fault.

I had an old Acura with liability only and he was driving a $70K Lexus so I was out a car and he got his fixed. I got totally screwed.

Hope you make out better than me. At least you are okay. My neck and back got beat up pretty bad.

If the skid was before the intersection, you wont win the arguement. That skid indicates that the light was yellow and, as cops see it, we should know a yellow light means stop. Also, it may mean you were going too fast. On the other hand, maybe he pulled out then stoped during his turn and you responded by stomping the brake which he took as signal to go. Result: wrongly abused maxima.

I would've atleast pulled those black leather seats. They looked mint.

our cars arent worth a few thousand anymore. even with low mileage they have cut the totalled out price down alot on cars over 10 years old. only if its pristine will they give you a decent check.
