Have you tried the SEARCH function? Read in the NOOB section? Save yourself from the gang beatings.

The cars been taken care of pretty well between the 1/2 owners b4 me which include my cousin first owner who put about 176,000 miles mostly highway from longisland ny to Lake Georege almost evey weekend... then he got a brand new lexus is 250awd! and gave the car to my great aunt who barely drove it for a year and a half then i got it and fixed it up again, warpspeed y-pipe, high flow cat, custom 2 1/4 cat back with knock off i think cherry bomb flowmaster 40 series muffler... last summer i put brand new Kyb Gr2 struts all around and only issues i get is an occasional cel from either the high flow cat or o2 sensor that may need to be replaced after 200k lol.... the cars still on the stock engine and automagic!!! I also did new ceramic pads and rotors all around! Also put new tires all around when I got it from my great aunt last March.... This maxima has been nothing but awesome to me.... just wanna mabe get the high flow cat/ o2 sensor and Egr Check engine lights taken care of this summer... ooo.... almost forgot.... i just need a new bumper cover from a tiny fender bender..... but other then that its all good!

Yes.

Code: P0400 | Description: EGR System

'Cleaning' it out with the tube still mounted is just forcing the blockage further down the guide tube, unless you're extracting the material.

As you can see, there are several potential causes for the code, not just a blocked up guide tube.

Im going to change the oil tomorrow and after that i guess ill try to get that egr tube out! last time i got the top bolts off of it and gave up when i tried to remove the bottom blots, cause u cant see them and have to go by feel and at that point it stared gettin dark out so i gave up n just went threw the intake manifold, so i guess ill try to "extract the material" out of the tube, and hope that the CEL dosent come back on for it again...
