Boost Sensor Q ?

So when i bought my max i had to rebuild the front end and and never knew what to do or even where this guy was suppose to be..

So what does it do ?

Do i really need it ?

and where is it suppose to mount ?

The guy that i bought it from said that it had something to do with the hood props and that it made the hood light..light up when you pop the hood up...Somehow i doubt that though.

It mounts to the stock intake snorkel near the core support. I'd say its a MAP sensor, although I don't know why We'd have MAF AND MAP.??

It does say on it that it is a boost sensor, but it is the same thing really (MAP). Like stated above, it mounts to the intake snorkel with a 10mm bolt!

Boost sensor = Absolute Pressure Sensor. From the FSM:

The sensor detects ambient barometric pressure and intake manifold pressure respectively, and modifies the voltage signal recieved from the ECM. The modified signal will then be returned to the ECM. As the pressure increases, the voltage rises.

If you try searching: http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...a-car-lol.html

if you get a 95 ECU you can take that shiz off. that's what I did. The 95 maxima didn't have most of the vacuum gallery that the 96-99 have and there is not MAP (boost) sensor.
