Cig Lighter Not Working

it is plugged in...how would i check to see if it is shoretd out...all the fuses are good....just the cig lighter thats out

Are you plugging in devices? Are you trying to use the heating element? Are you testing with a multimeter or test light?

By 'cig lighter' are you referring to the heating element, or the socket?
Well have you checked for power? There's always the possibility that the heating element is just dead, and the iPod charger has it's own issues (or the iPod itself).
Here we go again: did you do anything, have anything done, or did anything happen to the car before this started happening?
What fuse are you checking?
Did you replace it because it was blown, or just because?

I had a max with one not working also. i was goin nuts! i wrapped a piece of speaker wire around the metal part of the cig lighter fuse and stuck it in (make sure it's the side of the fuse that will prevent flow if the fuse is blown), snaked the wire under the watchamaycallit, pulled off the trim and spliced the existing 12v wire and yay!!!
