H&R Springs on Stock Struts

My girlfriend has agreed to buy me H&R Springs for Christmas for my 98 Maxima SE. I'd like to put them on by themselves being that I cant really afford the KYB AGX's. Does anyone know if the stock struts will handle this and be alright? Will they be shot after I do some driving on them or will they handle it? Please give me info cuz I really wanna lower my Maxima so when I get rims Im not driving a 4x4.
Thanks

I did that combo and couldn't wait to change them over again. I recomment putting some new performance sturs in there as well to control the higher spring rate of the H&R. You wind up with a better ride in the long run.

Besides the rougher ride is the safety factor alright with the stock struts? I can deal with a bumby ride for a while til I can afford the KYB's, but I cant deal with my car not being safe. They wont fall apart or break right? I ordered the H&R's last night. I want my Max lower and to handle better, I think Ill get that with just the H&R's til I get the KYB's too.
