Can the A/C system be "flushed" properly if the compressor is not working?
Title pretty much sums up my question.
I'm about to overhaul my A/C system due to inoperable compressor (ie. http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...or-clutch.html) I'm going to have the system evacuated so I can begin working, and was wondering if they can flush the system as well. So that I don't have to clean each individual line. And if they can do so properly. Thanks.

That's what I'd hoped, but it's near impossible to locate just a clutch.
And it's been almost a year since the A/C has run, so I have no doubt I would have more problems if I were just able to replace the clutch.

I would assume a "flush" for the A/C system would consist of draining whatever old PAG oil is in the system as well as evacuation with a vacuum to get all the moisture and air out and then recharge and add fresh PAG lube. I've never heard of an A/C system flush but then again I'm not an A/C expert, hope I answered your question

A flush is just where they run a solvent/flush through the system after evacuating the system to get the internals of everything clean. So there's no contaminents or anything.
