this is just a fun little poll I thought I would ask (Am I addicted to my max if I care more about this than the election?)

We all have that little storage area under radio (you know that one that is too small for anything useful, but in a great location). What do you use it for???

I buy a ton of gum and keep it in there... anybody got any strange or interesting uses for it?

 

I put dollar bills from the drive-thru in there, a plastic toy turtle, coupons, my RCA patch cords from the back of my head unit and into the pocket after I bored a little hole. I ocasionally hook up the Mini Disc player and store it in the pocket. Nothing really weird. I also put gum and altoids in. I used to put cd jewel cases in there, but I bought a cd holder that fits under my single din head unit.

 

I hide my drugs in there!! HAH HAH No really, I put my glasses, phone and a pen and post it notepad in there.

 

Heh. Reminds of that SNL skit with the salesguy that keeps going, "and look- you can hide your weed in here!" Slacker that sold me mine didn't even bother to point that feature out!

 

like someone stated before, also pens. I always thought itd be nice to put a nice size eq in there, drill holes in the back and run the wires through the back. but havent done that yet and prolly wont. Oh yeah I have an 88 max nad we have that same storage area.

 

Sunglasses and a pen for me. No other car that I've looked at or driven had such great storage for my stuff (CD's, phone, glasses, etc.) Nissan did a good job.

 

I've never put anything into it once. I'd rather have gauges there.

 

Works great for stashing a radar detector too. Mine slipped in perfect. I use it most of the time for sunglasses.

 

Makes a wonderful place for mints

Lets see; cd remote, gum, cell, money, any other cds that wont fit above, and extra jimmys. Now I converted the hold to have a switch box with four switches for the system, foglights, trunk lights, and I'm saving the last for nitrous hopefully. Oh yeah and I usually keep the drugs in the hold under the stick shift cover, works great been searched many times and always holds up.

 

I just keep my reciepts in there and my parking permit when i am not using it.

i was wonderin if anyone has anything custom done to theirs?... you know.. like a panel w/ some switches or some dancing lights (no wait, thats a bad idea) yeah but you know... anyone have anything like that? pics to maybe? or ideas for custom things down there

Don't got any pics since I don't have a camera or scanner, but see if you can picture this-

Pop down the cover and it reveals a reccessed flat black panel with four metal switches with red lights on the ends. I got the amp, foglights and a trunk strobe hooked up. Makes the car like something out of KnightRider, appreciate it if your an electronics geek. Purtty lights.

 

i've got a nitrous window switch, an autometer rpm module, and the purge button in there.

 

I keep my wallet in there when I'm driving, my work ID, a small pad of paper, a 5 dollar bill...and a handful of receipts....think I'll upgrade it to the GLE, I30 pop out tray...tire of reaching in there to grab stuff...then I can use this big carbon fiber piece that my kit came with...I might put a minidisc player in there when the bose dies...or a cd player and a tv above it. I dunno...

 

it's empty...don't want to invite someone to smash a window...for those who live in big cities...you'd understand. When I'm present, my wallet and cell phone fit perfectly.

But they want a freakin' fortune for the guages.I priced it and it would cost like $450 to $600 depanding on what guages I get. So for now it holds my shades.

 

I store my sun glasses in there. That's just about the only thing i have that'll fit.

 

I have an aftermarket one that has slots for 3 CDs...so i keep 3 CDs in there. Usually just my bass CDs which I never play in the house anyway.

Well when I got my car about a year ago, my girlfriend and her friends had to make fun of my love for it. When i pulled up at her house 3 girls ran out and covered my car in rosepedals trying to be funny. I collected them and threw them in there for good luck, I havnt hit anything yet so I guess i'll keep them in there

it's been used for change, weed and fortune cookie outlooks.

 

local and state maps, and a tire gauge. I tried to put CDs in there and couldn't close the door. ['96 Max] Sunglasses would be good. I'd like to see a EQ or gauges in there too!

I have a fake flower sitting in there (not sure what kind - some old lady gave it to me one day while I was out - wierd I know) and I use a pencil to change my radio stations that I keep in there. For me the car was not ergonomically designed for my arms to comfortable reach the stereo & I get uncomfortable reaching forward so I use a pencil...Am I the only one who does this?

 

The switches for my rollover license plates, smokescreen, stinger missles and a cooler for a bottle of dom. Now if I could just get that "WEAPONS VAN" button on my steering wheel to actually work......

I have my 1 billion watt amp mounted in that pocket with couple of caps hanging off of it. =)

LOL cool, what I really need to do is just get a new CD player in my car with a remote Now that would work for me...hmm im thinking christmas present to myself....

 

So I can yell at bad drivers LOL..I think I'd lose my voice real fast.

Right now I use mine for gas reciepts....I'm going to mount an eq. in there tho...nice and hidden.
