'96 Max finiky door locks

Hi,

My max has developed a gremlin with the door locks. When using the remote and I wish to open all of the doors, pressing the remote button opens all of the doors but immediately closes them all. The second try usually works. Also, when sitting inside and I want to open all of the doors, pushing the door switch to the open position also opens all of the doors and again closes them. If I push the door switch to unlock position and hold it there for a few (3 to 5) seconds, it works OK.

The local dealer, wants the car for trouble shooting, this usually means its going to cost me.

Has anyone had similar problems? How was this issue fixed?

Thanks in advance,

...

do they ever close after a while of doing nothing ?

do you let it sit there unlocked and it eventually locks itself ?

if it does.. wireing ? bad ground ?

if not...

something wrong with relays ?

Re: ...

I have the same problem with my 92 GXE. I do not have remote locks, but occasionally when I use the interior door lock switch to unlock, it will unlock but immediately re-lock. Sometimes, it will even unlock, lock, unlock and then lock again, immediately.

I have also developed a symptom where occasionally I won't be able to unlock the driver's door from the outside unless I hold the key in the unlock (counterclockwise) position.

Also, my front window switches occasionally stop working for brief periods of time. Usually they start to work again after a delay of (at most) 15 minutes.

Maybe someone can help us out with this.
