1) 16 lbs is light.

2) You might have slower acceleration due to bigger wheel size. Unavoidable.

3) Check the "4th Gen FAQ" thread above for tire size calculators.

ok so acording to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
if i went from 205/60/15 to 235/45/17
my circumference will go from 77.6 to 79.6 and rev/mile from 817 to 796 so if it turns less per mile then my speedo will read slower right? anyone know how much slower?

Taken directy from the site using the dimenstions you gave me:

"Speedometer reading with non-stock tire is 2.6% too slow.
When your speedo reads 60 mphm you are actually traveling 61.6 mph."

Being 2.6% off isn't that big a deal.

The stock tire size on a GXE is 205-65-15, not 205-60-15. If you really have 205-60-15s on there, then your speedo is already off. 235-45-17 is as close as you can get to being the "correct" size in 17", so those will actually put you back to how its supposed to be, whereas your 15s will be the ones that will have the bigger error.

Hmm...

Well I have the Racing Hart CP-035s. They look just like the SubZeros but they are 13.6 lbs each . You can check them out on my website I have a couple pics. They look nice, but don't forget I have 215/45/17s and Sprint springs. My tire size is way off get the 235s.

It depends on how heavy the 17" are. If they are less heavy = no. If they are more heavy = yes.

Other q's?

For looks, would you have to lower your car a little to make the car look better wiht bigger tires? And also is it possible to get your speedo re-adjusted to the new tires?

1. Yes. Most people think it looks nasty without a drop.
2. Yes. It costs MAD money.

wheels

say cyrus,

i was looking to change my generic 17" wheels
and the pics of your burgundy max (same as mine)
with the cp-035's (aka. subzero's look great.)
i know that racing harts are known for high quality.
may i ask how much they go for?
and why you did not go for the konigs?
(i think rota makes them for a lot of other companies)

thanks,
lawrence
